Embrace Your Inner Grandma & Celebrate

Your Love Of Birding

Our mission is to encourage people- young and old- to disconnect from their laptops and cellphones, take a break from their busy lives, and spend some time connecting with Mother Nature. It’s amazing the things you’ll see if you stop rushing long enough to take a closer look.

We support our customers with gear to keep them feeling comfy and looking cool (in a nerdy sort of way), while maybe attracting some new friends too!

We offer our items at a fair price, shipped fast directly to you.

Our Philosophy

Birding isn’t just your grandparents’ hobby anymore. More and more young people are getting involved and enjoying the thrill of checking “lifers” off of their list- like a real-life version of Pokémon-GO (Gotta Catch ‘Em All!).

We believe that birding is for ALL people, of any age, race, gender, or ability. Everyone is welcome here!

Grab a sweatshirt and your binoculars or camera, and LET’S GO BIRDING!

Our Founder

Hey there! My name is Stephanie! I’m a 30-something-year-old mom in Southern California who enjoys hiking, birding, and photography.

My passion for birding was born out of boredom. I’d moved to a new state, with two small children and no friends or family nearby. I needed a new hobby- one that would get me out of the house, that my kids could join in on too.

One day outside of my apartment window, I noticed some small reddish birds eating berries in a tree. I got out my camera, took some photos, and turned to the internet to find out what my new feathered friends were. I discovered that they were House Finches, and with that, the fire was lit to learn all that I could about the birds in my neighborhood and to try and spot more of them.

My kids were pretty young at the time, so while they didn’t catch on right away to all of the different names, they loved sitting and watching the birds out the window or at the park, learning about what they eat or the sounds that they make.

Over the years of birdwatching with me, they’ve learned a lot and developed a love and respect for nature. They’ve had hummingbirds perch on their fingers, watched baby robins grow up on our front porch, they’ve seen eagles soaring and hawks hunting. They point out birds when we are driving, hiking, or just sitting in the backyard and now know most of them by name. We’ve even got Grandma on the birdwatching bandwagon!

I hope that their love of nature stays with them for the rest of their lives and that they always take the time to put down their electronics and look to the skies.

Now I’m here to spread the love to all of you too =)
